Resinpal glass fiber mats with a surface weight of 450 g / m² and a width of 1.25 m are used in conjunction with polyester resin in pool and pond construction, in mold construction (laminates + positive and negative molds), for repairs in motor vehicles - and boat area as well as in tank and container manufacture. The textile glass mats have very good impregnation properties and are ideally suited for the so-called "wet on wet" lamination process with multilayer laminate structures. In contrast to the 300g / m² glass fiber mats, 450g / m² glass fiber mats are more stable, which plays an important role in processing. The lighter 300 g / m² mats are used to be able to adapt a shape, the stronger 450 g / m² mats to reinforce this shape and build a laminate.
The styrene contained in the polyester resin dissolves the emulsion binder contained in the glass fiber mat during processing and thus enables very good drapability. The laminate then cures tack-free within 24 hours at a minimum processing temperature of 18 ° C. We are happy to refer to our polyester resin Resinpal 1715 for private customers and Resinpal 1705 for commercial customers. You can of course find these two polyester resins in our online shop under: Resins. The resin consumption for fiberglass mats with a weight per unit area of ??450 g / m² is approx. 1.0 - 1.2 kg / m².
